Abstract: The structural model of heaven and the earth is discussed in this paper fromthe angle of historical development, with emphasis on the concept of earth shape. It is shown firstly that the wording of Tian Yuan Di Fang （The sky is sphericaland the earth is square） is not the structural model of universe, but a descriptionof the maps of heaven and the earth of ancient people.
