Abstract: The technical characteristic of the Foundation Fieldbus was briefly introduced. The main content of this article was about the design process of Foundation Fieldbus system and the verification algorithm of the system segment. Compared with the traditional DCS system for the offshore oil platform,the relative merits of Foundation Fieldbus were carried out. Combined with the real project case the prospect of the Foundation Fieldbus was discussed.
