Abstract: Dopamine could be oxidative self-polymerized under the weak alkaline condition,and formed surface-adherent polydopamine coatings onto a wide range of materials,including noble metals,metal oxides,inorganic and organic polymers and so on.Due to the special molecular structure of polydopamine coatings,secondary reactions could be used to create a variety of ad-layers and leaded to tailoring of the coatings for diverse functional uses.Besides,the functional materials surfaces also could be formed by one-pot strategy by the interaction of dopamine/polydopamine with the functional matter.In recent years,the two-step surface modification and one-step co-deposition surface modification methods based on polydopamine coatings were explored and applied in many areas.It is reported the latest research and application progress of polydopamine coating.
