Abstract: Two kinds of typical inner/outer layer compound charge composed of two types of DNTF-based explosives with aluminum mass fraction of 5% and 20% were chosen.Their detonation velocity and expansion displacement of the cylinder wall were measured by a 50 mm cylinder test. The energy release characteristics of different compound charge structures were studied and compared with those of single formula charge. Results show that when inner layer compound charge is high detonation velocity explosive, the detonation velocity is about the average of two kinds of single charge, and the driving ability in the late is not enhanced significantly and its Gurney coefficient is only 2.86mm/μs.When outer layer compound charge is high detonation velocity explosive, the detonation velocity is slightly lower than that of single charge with high detonation velocity, and the detonation wave has obvious cohesion characteristics, which improves the energy release rate of the inner layer low detonation velocity explosive and continuously enhances the driving ability, its Gurney coefficient is 2.93mm/μs.
