Abstract: Cellulose is the most abundant natural renewable resources. It is the new and environment-friendly method to utilize the bamboo cellulose employing the ionic liquids to dissolve lignocellulosic materials. The polarizing microscope and FTIR was used to study the dissolution of bamboo cellulose and bamboo powders with ionic liquids. The result showed that:( 1) bamboo cellulose would be absolutely dissolved after 2h with ionic liquids;( 2) the hemicellulose and lignin would be dissolved partly in ionic liquids;( 3) the dissolution ratio decreased with increasing of bamboo powder diameter. The results provide a theoretical basis for the utilization and exploration of bamboo cellulose.
