Abstract: The mechanical properties of torsion gyroscope were analyzed by using Euler equations.The motion within the first 250 safter the release was predicted theoretically.The influence of the gyroscope’s stable spin axis and precession on the gyroscope’s motion was studied experimentally.It was pointed out that the angular velocity and peak value of the precession angle and the nutation angle became larger for a larger initial torsion torque,but the period was almost unchanged.
