Abstract: This paper discusses the discrete phenomena in existence and uniqueness in Cauchy problem for a class of higher dimensional differential equations with double characteristics It is shown that the discrete phenomena will be produced in existence and uniqueness when the parameter takes certain values The relationship between existence , uniqueness and Riemann problem is established
