Abstract: 8-Hydroxyquinoline was catalytic synthesized by Skraup. The molar ratio of reactants, the catalys dosage, reaction temperature and reaction time were explored by orthogonal experiment. The optimum reaction conditions are determined as follows: the molar ratio of o-nitrophenol and o-aminpphenol was 1.2∶2, the catalys sulphuric acid dosage was 4.5 m L, the reaction temperature was 145 ℃ and reaction time was 2h, the 8-Hydroxyquinoline yield was 56.4%.
