Abstract: The study examined the development trend of the basic psychological needs of college students and cellphone dependency through three follow-up studies of 591 freshmen over a period of one year and examined the longitudinal mechanism of the role of basic psychological needs in the development of helicopter parenting and mobile phone dependency.
