Abstract: Diabetes is a metabolic diseases characterized by high blood sugar levels over a prolonged period. Diabetes was first described by an Egyptian manuscript in 1500 BC. Management of diabetes is now focused on diet, sport, medications, metabolic surgery and some other treatments. In this article, the history of diabetes learning and treatment is briefly reviewed.
