Abstract: The ore properties and leaching experiments of a copper and cobalt ore in the Democratic Republic of Congo were studied and the leaching process was designed on this basis. The two-stage leaching process is adopted in the design, and the main scheme and equipment selection are described. The production practice shows that the copper and cobalt in ores can be recovered effectively by two-stage leaching process, and the leaching rates of copper and cobalt are 95% and 84% respectively.
