Abstract: Second-order nonlinear optical polymers have been extensively studied for their potential applications in optoelectronics. In this artical, based on a brief introduction of nolinear optical(NLO)effects and hyperbranched polymers, recent advances of NLO hyperbranched polymers were reviewed, placing the emphasis on design and synthesis of NLO hyperbranched polymers, which were enumerated to illustrate methods to obtain materials of good NLO performance and easy synthesis.
