Abstract: ＜正＞中国科学院编译局是在1950年1月正式成立的,最初定名为出版编译局,后经政务院文化教育委员会批准,于同年3月改称为编译局.编译局首任局长是古生物学家杨钟健,他当时在南京任中央地质调查所新生代研究室主任,经过陶孟和与竺可桢两位副院长的推荐,报请政务院批准任命.该局设编译、出版两处,编译处先由关肇直任处长,1950年3月关肇直调任院图书管理处处长后,由黄宗甄继任处长.
